IIM Indore’s Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Investment Banking Inaugurated

IIM Indore and ICICI Direct Centre for Financial Learning (ICFL) had entered into an agreement on September 23, 2015 to offer Virtual Learning Programme for Executives (VLPE). Under the above agreement, the Institute and ICFL are offering Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Investment Banking (PGCPIB), and the inauguration of Batch - 02 took place on April 15, 2019. The inauguration took place in the presence of Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, Professor Rajhans Mishra, Faculty, IIM Indore and Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, ICFL.  The on-campus orientation module of the programme is being organised at IIM Indore Campus from April 15-19, 2019. Thirty-seven participants have joined the programme.

The event began with the lighting of the lamp and SaraswatiVandana, followed by an address by Professor Rai. He said, ‘Since you are investing time that you could have spent with your family over here for this course, use this time wisely. Learn as much as you can and my colleagues will walk the extra mile to answer all queries that you may have. Yours is a diverse group and this diversity is your strength’. He advised the participants to learn from their peer group as well, for there is a lot that can be gained through sharing with each other the professional experiences.

This was followed by a welcome address by Professor Rajhans Mishra. He welcomed all the participants and gave a brief of the Institute. He also introduced the participants to the programme curriculum and how the classes would be conducted. Mr. Agarwal also interacted with the participants. He said that ICFL and IIM INDORE have been offering programmes in BFSI domain for last few years. ‘Programme in investment banking is unique. It's a specialised programme in investment banking area. New age technology like training through virtual mode has facilitated working executives to join these programmes to enhance their skills and upgrade themselves’, he said.

The participants then gave their introduction. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Mishra and National Anthem.
