IIM Raipur's Seventh Professional Development Training under TEQIP-III

In its endeavour to make its contribution towards the promotion of excellence and quality teaching of technical institutions, Indian Institute of Management Raipur began five days Professional Development Training (PDT) for Faculty members under Technical Education Improvement Program (TEQIP) III at VW Canyon on March 26, 2019. This is being conducted under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD), Government of India, which has initiated the third phase of TEQIP for faculty members of higher educational institutes. IIM Raipur has been entrusted by the MHRD with the objectives of highlighting the importance of world class technical education, identifying the gaps and lacunae in the present system, processes and infrastructure and evolving the benchmarks for the delivery of education and resources management.


This 7th Professional Development Training during March 26-30, 2019 is being attended by more than 30 participants comprising of Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors from engineering colleges across the states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Orissa, Rajasthan, Tripura, UttarPradesh, Uttrakhand, Gujrat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, and Telangana.Prof. Archana Parashar and Prof. Rashmi Shukla are the program directors for this training program and the TEQIP coordinator is Prof. Sanjeev Prashar.


The first day began with Ice-breaking session conducted by Prof.Sanjeev Prashar. The participants became acquainted with each other through game playing methods to break the communication and other barriers that exist among strangers. He urged the participants to allow the facilitators to work on them so that they can take maximum benefits of the five days programme.

Prof. Rashmi Shukla took the next session on 'Vision, Mission and Goal in Academia’, wherein importance of setting aspirations by individuals and institutes was highlighted. The session stressed on the fundamental interconnectedness of human kind, of societies and education at large, and how broad and systemic crises had arisen from a failure of wider vision. 


Dr. Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIM Raipur took a session on ‘Improving Governance system in academia’ on the day-1. He explained the rational of having good governance in the context of academic institutions. The session outlined a broad framework for aligning the academic outcomes with the specific governance styles at higher educational institutions particularly technical institutions. The day-1 ends with a session on ‘Accreditation Process (National/ International)’ taken by prof. Satyasiba Dash. The session was designed with an objective to make the participants to understand the importance of the Accreditation process and the advantages of its implementation in their respective institutions.


On day-2, session on ‘Student- Teacher Interaction (Effectiveness, Feedback)’ was taken by prof. Archana Parashar. This sessionwas focussed in delineating the strategies for improving the Student-Teacher interaction resulting in an effective relationship between the teaching and learning communities.


Second session on ‘Financial System in academia’ was taken by prof. Vinay Goyal. This session has covered the basic of accounting regarding academic administration. Later in the session, the discussions focused around the accounting of research funding. The third session was taken by Prof. Sanjeev Prashar on ‘Team Building’. This session highlighted the importance of understanding self and discussed important attributes of team building. This session included couple of activities on team building strategies. The last session on day-2 was taken by Prof. Sumeet Gupta on ‘Use of ICT (ERP Module)’. This session focused on ‘how an institute can benefit from an institute wide learning ICT Based systems’, especially ERP System.


On day-3, Prof. Sanjeev Prashartook the first two sessions on ‘Workplace Management (Attitude)’, and ‘Industry Interaction (R&D/ Consultancy)’. The session on ‘Workplace Management (Attitude)’ delineated the importance of attitudes of the teaching community as currently, the academic institutions are in an era driven by information, global competition and new technologies that are changing rapidly. The session on ‘Industry Interaction (R&D/ Consultancy)’ has stressed upon the Linkage between Academic Institution–industry which has a crucial role in technological transfer for achieving the societal objectives.


Prof. Sumeet Gupta took the last two sessions for the day-3 on ‘Knowledge System (Library management)’ and ‘Sponsorship for R&D activities & Consultancy Management)’. Session on ‘Library Management’ focussed on making library efficient. The session discussed RFID based automated library system available at IIM Raipur and how it helps in making the entire library system more efficient. The session on ‘Sponsorship for R&D activities & Consultancy Management)’focused around importance of developing an institute-wide policy for promoting research in the institute as well as linking it with the promotion criteria.

JEE Main Response Sheet is the answer sheet of the candidate that they submitted during the Examination. Basically, when the candidate apears in the examination they appear in the exam online. All these answers are saved as recorded during the test. Finally, NTA accumulates these answers and arranges them in a PDF format for the candidates. This is known as the Response Sheet. Candidates need this response sheet to cross reference their answers they check in the JEE Main Answer Key.
