Students of SP Jain Institute of Management and Research in community service won them international accolade in the TeamMBA Award this year. Out of the more than 21,000 votes which were cast online in May, the institute won almost half making them the winner of the 2012 All School Team MBA Award.

The All School Award recognises a B-school for its commitment in promoting and supporting social engagement by its students. The efforts can be taken through school-led programs, services, institutional culture, and community outreach. Students at SP Jain worked to improve the lives of women, milk and agricultural growers, disaster victims and rural villagers as part of their community outreach programmes.

The winners were announced by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) this week. SP Jain was recognised at GMAC's annual conference, the largest gathering of b-school professionals in the world. Around 78 service programmes and 1500 students from B-schools across the world considered for the TeamMBA award. These students volunteered 50,000 hours and managed to raise 2.6 million dollars.
