The Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur presents the Inaugural edition of the IIMU Leadership Summit. On the 4th of August, 2012, this grand event will be hosted at the resplendent Durbar Hall of the City Palace of Udaipur.
IIM Udaipur, the youngest of all the IIMs, was set up in 2011 and strives to be a thought leader on business challenges faced by corporate leaders as well as by policy makers in India and abroad. The institute aims to develop intellectual capital and to nurture leadership which can effectively take on the critical issues faced by corporate and government organizations.
The flagship event of IIM Udaipur is the Leadership Summit which would serve as a platform for corporate leadership to share their opinions and views on select themes through an engaging panel discussion. We believe this one day event will provide the students with unique insights from the minds of master decision makers and help them understand the direction that our country is heading in from the perspectives of the various experts.
With a view to explore perspectives on “Ideation to Execution in a Business Cycle”, the panel discussion will be based around two themes:
1) Making India an Innovation Hub: “Jack of all trades and master of one”, this saying is as true as it gets. United States is called the super power and is leading the world in new technologies. China has started catching up fast and is in the race to become the next super power by being a manufacturing hub. Now is the turn of India to participate in the race and Lead. One way this can be achieved is by making India an Innovation hub and the responsibility lies in the hands of the Indian corporates. The panel discussion will aim to provide a glimpse of the practices that nurture innovation in the industry and how to take it further to achieve supremacy.
2) Execution Excellence: Although strategy formulation is fundamental to business success, some of the world’s leading companies pride themselves on successful execution of business strategies. We at IIM Udaipur recognize ‘Execution Excellence’ as a cornerstone of leadership development and we strive to imbibe this quality in our management graduates. The panel discussion during the leadership summit will aim to provide a diverse perspective on the concept of ‘execution’ in the business parlance. The discussion would largely revolve around the industry best practices while also focusing on functional level issues which impact execution.
