IIM TRICHY TO OPEN A CAMPUS AT CHENNAI
IIM Trichy to open a campus at Chennai to look after the Executive Education, Management Development Programmes (MDP) and other institutional activities like placement, selection of students, etc.
Executive Education is the need of the hour. The Chennai campus of IIM Trichy will offer an opportunity to pursue professional education to those executives who cannot afford to quit their jobs. It would be a three year programme titled as Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) on the lines of IIM Trichy’s flagship Post Graduate Programme (PGP). PGDBM would be offered over a period of three years and the classes would be held in the evenings (6.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.) and on weekends. IIM Trichy would soon announce the dates and criteria for selection. Minimum three years of experience after graduation along with good academic background would be necessary to be eligible for this programme.
The major objective of the programme is to groom working executives to move into managerial roles. Towards this, develop young men and women into competent professional managers, capable of working in any sector of organized activity, provide leadership and achieve excellence even while contributing to the welfare of society at large. The programme will begin in August 2012. Some of the programme highlights:
· Specifically designed to cater to the demands of the working executives
· 18 core courses, 14 elective courses and 1 industry project spread over 3 years
· Completely aligned with the post graduate programme being offered at Trichy
· Courses would be taught by the renowned faculty of IIM Trichy along with select senior visiting faculty members from the industry.
· Diplomas will be awarded to successful students of the inaugural batch during the annual convocation in March 2015
· Convenient classroom learning slots in the evenings
· Easily accessible location
Fellowship Programme:
IIM Trichy also launched its Fellowship Programme (FP) this year. Four students have been selected to pursue the rigorous Fellowship Programme in the very first year. The FPM at IIM Trichy is globally recognized, premier source of rigorous and inter-disciplinary research in areas of business management and public policy. The programme is committed to training individuals who will excel in their areas of research through creation of quality knowledge of international standard. The candidates are provided with necessary skills to make a career in academia or industry. IIM Trichy is the first IIM to offer an FPM programme in only the second year of its existence.
PGP at IIM Trichy:
The second batch of PGP (2012-14) was inaugurated by Mr. Awdhesh Krishna, Managing Director, Global Head of HR, Wholesale Corporate, Nomura Services India Private Limited on 13th June 2012.
IIM Trichy is looking forward to welcoming the second batch of PGP students who are a perfect fit to the institute’s ethos and are capable of taking the institute to greater heights.
