18 Start-ups, 22 Teams: iExpo 2019

IIM Indore witnessed a presence of enthusiastic young entrepreneurs presenting their innovative and interesting ideas to the angel investors and experts at the iExpo 2019 on Saturday, February 09, 2019. The event—providing a platform to the creative business minds, being organized by E-Cell of IIM Indore is the one of the most awaited start-up expos of central India. This year, around 18 teams presented their ideas to the experts, which included PS Sreekanth, Sanjay Enishetty, NagarajaParakasama, Pritesh Patangia among many others.

 

The inauguration took place in the presence of Col. Gururaj Gopinath Pamidi (Retd.), CAO, IIM Indore. This was followed by a welcome speech by Prof. DL Sunder, who noted that it is important to bring out the entrepreneur in everyone and hence events like iExpo are important.

 

The first half of the day witnessed presentations on their start-ups which included various segments like agriculture, medical, etc.

 

A few interesting start-ups were: V-Impact which had the innovative idea of “vegetarian meat”, Dharohar, which provided an aggregating platform for indigenous artisans and Tetoota which acts as a connecting app for the C2C barter trade.

 

The closing ceremony took place in the evening and Mr. NagarajaPrakasama, who was present during the closing, appreciated the efforts put in by the participants of IIM Indore in organizing the event in a successful manner. Professor DL Sunder, Chair, E-Cell at IIM Indore also addressed the audience and mentioned about various initiatives taken up by the E-Cell during the last one year. He noted that IIM Indore also has an incubation centre and it looks forward to providing mentorship to the start-ups by the Institute students; and even provide them virtual mentorship after they graduate.

 

The event came to an end with the result declaration. The winning start-up was V-Impact. The idea was presented by the CEO, Mehul, a college student from Indore. The event came to a closure with lot of enthusiasm among the entrepreneurs, bringing them all together with a healthy competitive spirit and providing them platform to seek advice and learn from the distinguished experts from the business world.
