Dear Sir
I have a question regarding stock markets watch. Normally when we see the indices(sensex or nifty) then there is one number written in large font and one number is written in subscript of this number with + or - sign. Also one percentage is written in brackets. What this number and percentage indicates.

The number written in subscript is the change in the indice compared to the previous day. i.e whether it has increased or decreased i.e. + ve or - ve.
Large font number is the closing index value.
Percentage means the percentage change in the index value compared to previous close. |

Thankyou Sir for the reply.
I am seeing the indices of nse and bse. Why bse index is large in number as compared to nse?
I am watching the indices of both but unable to interpret. What should I understand from these indices. I mean to say, that I am seeing the indices of bse and nse and come to know that whether most of the companies or sound companies listed in these exchanges have gone up or down during the day. Same is the case with individual company watch. But what should I understand from this. Sir I am new in watching stock markets. Please help me out and if you have any other information which can help me please tell me.
Regards Payal |
